AMC 8

The AMC 8 is a 40-minute, multiple-choice exam for middle schoolers, focusing on fundamental math topics to enhance problem-solving skills. It’s available in various formats, including braille and multiple languages, to ensure accessibility.

AMC 10/12

The AMC 10 and AMC 12 are challenging 75-minute exams for students up to grades 10 and 12, covering comprehensive high school math topics like trigonometry and advanced algebra. These exams prepare students for national and international math competitions and are available in braille and large print.

Eligibility Criteria

Students interested in the AMC series must meet specific age and grade requirements. AMC 8 is open to students in 8th grade or below and under 14.5 years old; AMC 10 is for those in 10th grade or below and under 17.5 years old; and AMC 12 is available to students in 12th grade or below and under 19.5 years old. These criteria ensure that participants compete with peers of similar educational and age levels, maintaining fair competition standards.
 
  • AMC 8: Open to students in 8th grade or below, under 14 years of age on the day of the contest.
  • AMC 10: Suitable for students in 10th grade or below, under 17 years of age on the day of the contest.
  • AMC 12: Designed for students in 12th grade or below, under 19 years of age on the contest day.
