Celebrate Team Success in National STEM Tournaments
We’re excited to announce that IvyMax students have achieved outstanding results in the 2025 NEC and NPFC Competition, showcasing their teamwork, problem-solving skills, and advanced mathematical thinking on the national stage!
About the Competitions
Both NEC and NPFC are nationally recognized, team-based competitions that assess students’ knowledge and application of economic principles, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.
What Is the 2025 NEC?
Organized by the Council for Economic Education, the National Economics Challenge (NEC) is the premier U.S. economics competition for high school students. Teams compete in categories including:
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
International economics
Current events and logical reasoning
The competition includes multiple rounds of testing as well as team case presentations, culminating in state and national championships.
What Is the NPFC Competition?
The National Personal Finance Challenge (NPFC) is a real-world simulation competition focused on financial literacy and decision-making. Teams are evaluated on their ability to:
Interpret personal finance scenarios
Make smart investment and budgeting decisions
Collaborate under pressure
Present their reasoning to a panel of judges
Both competitions are widely respected and supported by educators, policymakers, and top universities for fostering applied learning and real-world financial skills.
IvyMax Results at a Glance

Why Do These Competitions Matter?
Academic Recognition
Success in the NEC and NPFC demonstrates more than just academic knowledge—it reflects students’ ability to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world, fast-paced challenges. Many top U.S. colleges and honors programs recognize participation in these competitions as evidence of leadership, analytical thinking, and college readiness.
Skill Development
Students gain critical skills such as:
Team-based collaboration
Time management under pressure
Public speaking and persuasive presentation
Applied financial literacy and economic reasoning
These are exactly the kinds of skills that future employers and university faculty look for in rising scholars and leaders.
What’s Next?
We’ll continue following the progress of these outstanding teams as they advance to upcoming state-level and national rounds. Future updates on presentation results, feedback from judges, and student reflections will be added to this page.
Stay tuned and join us in celebrating these talented, hardworking students!
